It’s quite the concept, when you start putting more intention into the images you want, you start getting the images you need. That comes with time, data, notes, and a certain understanding. See the process behind one of my favorite motorsport images of 2025.

Short track racing is built on community, and Kyle Maki, driver of the #18 Modified racing at Birch Run and Owosso Speedways, is a great example of that.

Kyle was actually the first driver to hire me under a photography contract, an opportunity that came through a referral from motorsports videographer Don Bennett of Bennett Media. Since then, Kyle has been more than a client; he’s helped make introductions, referred other drivers, and become a good friend along the way.
